Collection: Rice Straws

They can be put into municipal composting programs or composted at home, heck they could even be eaten! One creative company is even collecting them and using them as fish food!
The straws are made in a clean facility and heat sterilized before being individually wrapped in paper. They outperform paper and biodegradable plastic straws not only in their green credentials but also because they can be used for hot food (unlike biodegradable plastic) and will not degrade during use (unlike paper).
- Made in Vietnam from rice flour and tapioca starch, colored using vegetable dyes
- Single use, compostable
- Sterilized, made in FDA registered facility
- Individually wrapped in paper
- Packed in approximately 80 wrapped straws per box or 960 per carton
- Can be used for hot or cold drinks
- Diameter 6-8mm, length 200-220mm
- As rice straws are made from edible products, they are exempt from the 7% provincial sales tax in BC. They are the only straw to qualify for this exemption
- A superior alternative to single use plastic straws
- Many countries are moving towards implementing a single use plastics ban. Plastic straws are first on the list of items to be banned
